“大师世界经济译丛”整理自美国佛得汉大学教授、著名国际经济学家多米尼克·萨尔瓦多先生主编的《政策模型》(Journal of Policy Modeling)特刊。该特刊每年举办一次论坛，旨在就当年世界经济热点问题寻求世界顶级经济学家的看法、意见和主张。经萨尔瓦多教授授权，由复旦大学出版社陆续出版各年论坛议题，以中英文对照的形式向中国读者集中展现大师们的真知灼见。
《欧元、美元和国际货币体系》汇集的是由萨尔瓦多教授主持的、于2005年元月在费城举行的美国经济协会年会上经济学家们的精彩文章。这些作者包括欧元之父、诺贝尔经济学奖获得者蒙代尔，诺贝尔经济学奖获得者坎能，现代金融理论奠基人、斯坦福大学教授麦金农，哈佛大学教授弗兰克尔，前国际货币基金组织首席经济学家穆萨等，讨论的议题涉及欧元、全球化、国际货币体系、汇率制度等。
